Get inspired in Jaisalmer

December is a perfect time to get some Jaisalmer ! i went with my family in a roller coaster trip across jaipur-pushkar-ajmer sharif-jodhpur and jaisalmer in four days(We had time constraint and could fit in only these places). We saw a little sun but it was pleasant.

Hope this picture story will let you see the beauty of Jaisalmer.

At the NIFT Spectrum '14 - Bhubaneswar

Dont you just love it when you see creativity walking down a ramp and mesmerize you.Although it was a one and a half hour long wait seeing the students effortlessly shifting the whole stage from outdoors to the hall inside...it was worth it.The unseasonal rain wouldnt have stopped the Nift Spectrum 2014.

the stage

After the beautiful Kathakali opening dance and a series of video montages, the drumroll to the much awaited fashion show began. After i shifted home(read Bhubaneswar) this is my first chance to soak in the new fashion hub in the city.

There were in total 8 sequences with varied design expressions. The following images are the ones that really tickles your creative nerve.

Sashaying in designs made by paper was the first sequence

the young designer duo(did not get a chance to the names)....

Another inspiring collection was the menswear named Solace

Firewater inspired the heavy patchworked tops and bottles were carried as accessories.

beer grab !!...

suspenders and belts used interestingly...

Man bags...

the trio behind this collection..

the others...

Dressed up for the show..

I promise i will do a better job at pictures next time :-) (blame the harsh indoor light..competing for space with other photographers ;-) :-) and forgetting i had a camera in my hand moments)
Will be putting up what i wore in the next post...Till then soak in the Creativity !!

WEAR modified long skirt as a lehenga..

Wedding seasons never seem to end..if friend's wedding was just wrapped up,an aunty comes home with good news of a cousin's wedding that we have to-have to attend,in the meantime another friend decides to tie the knot.

As exciting as it is to wear different costume in different functions,i have to keep in mind i do not repeat or be boring.simple and modest is my mantra even for weddings. Here i converted this blue umbrella skirt into an ethnic skirt complete with a blouse and complementing dupatta...to match the skirt ,i have added the green of the blouse at the hem of the skirt.A simple neckpiece or only a paranda(head ornament) just makes this outfit stunning without competing with the bride.!

Ensemble taken forward from a long skirt and executed.

WEAR Afghani pants with short flared top

Life would be much simpler for us females if we knew exactly what to wear without any choices...or some advice whenever we start dressing up, a little attention never hurt anyone....that would be happiness according to this ;-),courtesy here

Most of the time i am heavily dependent on my mood on what to wear and i try not to overlap my looks..most of the time.i am doing this post to have an interesting take everytime i put on the few garments i own.my lil sis and Muse - Rhea, will be helping me in this endeavor.

Inticing my boho spirit in this afghani/low crotch pants(bought in Delhi,SN Market),a gifted silk scarf and a short angarakha (got done) all staged up for the shoot with Rhea's own glasses and red mobile,i think it completed the look and moreover engaged her without getting bored between the shots ;-)
Hope you like it.
